Between 2023 and 2025, more than half of all accepted workers’ compensation claims in ACT small businesses were related to injuries associated with falls, trips and slips or muscular stress. Muscular stress injuries were commonly associated with tasks such as lifting, carrying and putting down objects, as well as repetitive movements.

A total of 1,386 accepted claims were made over this period, with 389 relating to muscular stressing injuries and 323 relating to falls, trips and slips.
