Health and Safety Representative Toolkit
Effective consultation with workers is essential for ensuring safe workplaces across the ACT. Health and safety representatives (HSRs) play an important role in representing workers’ health and safety interests and communicating such matters to persons conducting a business or undertaking (PCBUs). Their importance is recognised under the Work Health and Safety Act 2011 and associated regulations, which set out the specific powers and responsibilities of HSRs.
This online toolkit has been developed to support HSRs, workers and PCBUs in understanding the roles, duties and responsibilities of HSRs in the workplace.
HSR Network
Launched in 2025, WorkSafe ACT’s HSR Network was established to strengthen engagement with the Canberra community and support HSRs and deputy HSRs in their important roles.
Members receive updates including news, resources and practical work health and safety tips.
