Intelligence Led Campaign - Construction

The construction industry in the ACT has twice the frequency rate of workers’ compensation claims compared to all other industries. It also has higher median compensation amounts and higher median time lost.

WorkSafe ACT has developed a targeted campaign using workers’ compensation and compliance and enforcement data that focuses on addressing the drivers of serious injuries in construction.

Starting next week, WorkSafe ACT inspectors will be visiting construction workplaces to conduct safety audits targeting identified high-risk areas and working with PCBUs to drive improvements in safety for workers.

The data collected from this campaign will be used to inform our future campaigns to ensure resources are being focused on the areas that present the greatest risk to worker safety.
