How we hire

Preparing your application

The ACT Careers and Employment page includes detailed information on how to prepare your application for a position at WorkSafe ACT, including how to address selection criteria, what should be included in a CV (resume) and a range of other important resources.

Instructions on how to apply will also be specified in the job advert at time of advertising. Applications will be accepted through to 11:59pm on the closing date, unless specified otherwise.

Applicants are shortlisted based on their suitability and demonstration of relevant skills and experience in relation to the prescribed capabilities of the position.

What sort of questions will I be asked at interview

Interview questions will be based on the capabilities and skills listed under the ‘Ideal Candidate’ section of the Position Description.

The capabilities listed under ‘Ideal candidate’ consist of a mixture of technical skills and behavioural capabilities and can be specific to the position itself.

When preparing for an interview, you should think of examples from your professional and personal life when you displayed the skills and behaviours listed in the Position Description. The best way to present your example is using the STAR method, Situation, Task, Action and Result.
