National Safe Work Month 2022
October is National Safe Work Month. WorkSafe ACTs theme for this year is “all workers, all workplaces”.
Workplaces can pose risks to workers and others. Whether in an office, a café, a shop or on a construction site – all workers have the right to a safe and healthy workplace.
Throughout October, we’ll be shining a light on different occupations and hazards and the risks they pose. We’ll be publishing resources, promoting events and holding ‘Safety sessions’ at different locations across Canberra, where you can come and ask one of our inspectors questions about keeping your workplaces safe and healthy.
#safeworkmonth also coincides with Mental Health Month. In week two, our specialist psychosocial inspectors will be available at Garema Place with a focus on the retail and hospitality industries. We’ll also be releasing some of the findings from a survey we commissioned about mental health in ACT workplaces.
A safe and healthy workplace benefits everyone. WorkSafe ACT calls upon businesses, employers, and workers across ACT to join us in celebrating National Safe Work Month and commit to building safe practices for all workers in all workplaces.
We’d love to see how you’re celebrating #safeworkmonth at work throughout October. Tag us on social media using the hashtags #allworkers #allworkplaces #safeworkmonth and #worksafeact
During the month, we will be issuing safety alerts and publishing digital resources including flyers, posters, and videos on work health and safety. We will also be updating our events table below.
You can keep updated on our activities by subscribing to our mailing list, just send us an email at worksafe@worksafe.act.gov.au.
