Ullrich Aluminium Pty Ltd

In September 2015 a worker was injured when he fell from a forklift onto the concrete floor below. The worker had been standing on a metal stillage (cage) and lifted on the tines of the forklift while stock taking.

It was alleged by the regulator that Ullrich Aluminium Pty Ltd had a safety duty under sections 19 and 21 of the Work Health and Safety Act 2011 and sections 219 and 220 of the Work Health and Safety Regulation 2011 and it failed to comply with that duty.

The regulator considered a proposal for a work health and safety undertaking from Ullrich Aluminium Pty Ltd. The proposal met WorkSafe ACT's requirements as outlined in its enforceable undertaking publications. The proposal will deliver safety benefits to workers, to industry where forklifts are used, and to the community. The regulator accepted the undertaking on 1 February 2017.
