WorkSafe ACT and ACT Policing investigating worker fatality

WorkSafe ACT attended an incident on Wednesday morning where a 43-year-old man has tragically passed away. ACT Policing has confirmed the incident occurred on a public road, in a new residential development area.
Work Health and Safety Commissioner Jacqueline Agius offers her sympathy and deepest condolences to the family, friends and colleagues of the worker, and expressed her sadness at this tragic loss of life.
“Our thoughts are very much with the loved ones of the worker and his colleagues. This was a terrible and distressing incident.
As we get close to the end of what has without a doubt been a challenging year, I urge workers, employers and the ACT community to always, without exception, put safety first. Together we can prevent serious injury and fatalities.”
