Safe Work Month 2023: Week 3 - ACTPS & New ACTPS Strategy
Welcome to week three of Safe Work Month 2023!
ACT Public Service (ACTPS)
This week our focus is on the ACTPS and the launch of the new ACTPS and Public Sector Strategy.
The ACTPS has broad responsibilities including the management of parks, greenfield and brownfield construction developments, public transport, fire and ambulance services, municipal services, health, education and justice systems.
On Wednesday 18 October, we will be launching our ACTPS and Public Sector Strategy. The strategy will be the overarching document that captures WorkSafe ACT's approach to improving safety and compliance within the ACTPS/public sector and will guide our enforcement, engagement and education activities over the next two years.
Safety Session
Please join us at our next Safety Session on Wednesday 18 October.
These sessions are a great opportunity to have a chat with the friendly WorkSafe Inspectors and get answers to any work health and safety questions you have.
Please come along, grab a poster or two (and a free cookie if you're quick) and hear how to keep your workplace healthy and safe!
When: Wednesday 18 October 2023
Time: 10:30am – 2:00pm
Where: Nara Centre Courtyard, outside of Two before Ten Cafe (just look for our big white gazebo!)
Recap from Week 2
In case you missed what we did in Week 2, don’t worry! We have a recap of resources and information below.
Week 2 was dedicated to psychosocial hazards. We:
- issued a Safety Alert on work related fatigue.
- hosted our second safety session of the month in the city at City Walk. In attendance were WorkSafe ACT's psychosocial inspectorate team, Work Health and Safety Commissioner Jacqueline Agius and some other amazing WorkSafe ACT staff0. We engaged with so many members of our wonderful Canberra community – it was great!
- released our Fatigue in Construction Sounds Like poster.
